I’m Sreenivas Makam (Sreeni) — an engineering and technology leader with 20+ years across Google, Cisco, BYJU’s, and high-growth startups in AI, cloud, gaming, and EdTech.
Most recently, I was the founding tech member and CTO at KGeN/Humynlabs.ai, where I built the engineering organization from scratch and scaled it across AI, gaming, and e-commerce verticals serving millions of users across India, Southeast Asia, and Brazil. Before that, I tripled Google Cloud’s application modernization business in India, led 70+ engineers at BYJU’s across North America and LATAM, and established Cisco’s Private Cloud Networking charter in India.
Where I go deep today: LLM engineering (RAG pipelines, agentic systems, multi-model orchestration), AI-native developer tooling, large-scale systems design, and the intersection of engineering decisions and business outcomes.
On this blog, I write about what I’m learning at the frontier — AI engineering, cloud-native architecture, large-scale systems, and occasionally engineering leadership. The opinions here are my own.
I’m also the author of Mastering CoreOS (2016) and a technical reviewer for several O’Reilly and Packt titles. I was a Docker Captain from 2015–18.
